Cookie Policy
Last updated: January 9, 2026
1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy describes how Uprise, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on uprisehq.org. It supplements our Privacy Policy and explains cookie types, purposes, and your choices.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us recognise your device between page loads, retain preferences, and measure use of the Service. We also use related browser technologies, including local storage, for the cookie-banner dismissal state.
3. How We Use Cookies
We use four cookie categories. The table identifies each category, representative examples from uprisehq.org, and typical lifetimes.
| Category | Examples on this site | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session authentication token; CSRF protection token; cookie-banner dismissal timestamp (localStorage) | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | UI state (onboarding step, dashboard layout preference); billing period toggle (monthly/annual) | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Self-hosted analytics measure pages visited, features used, and quarterly plan completion rates; data is anonymised and no personal identifiers are sent to third parties. | Up to 13 months |
| Marketing | Not currently used | Not applicable |
4. Notice and Choice
The Uprise Service is based in and targeted to small business owners in the United States, so we use a notice-only consent model. After viewing the cookie notice, continuing to use the Service constitutes consent to the cookie use described above. You may opt out of analytics cookies at any time through the cookie banner, via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer, or by configuring your browser.
5. Universal Opt-Out Signals
Where applicable state law requires, including for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon residents, we honour browser-transmitted opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") for sale and targeted-advertising categories. When the Service detects a GPC signal, analytics initialisation is suppressed regardless of banner dismissal state. We do not currently engage in cross-site tracking or sell personal information, so the practical effect of GPC on our site is limited to analytics suppression.
6. Third-Party Cookies
We use self-hosted analytics and do not load third-party advertising or tracking scripts. If a third-party service provider sets cookies for us, including for authentication infrastructure, it operates under a data-processing agreement restricting its use of data to providing services to us.
7. Managing Cookies
- Use the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer to reopen the notice anytime.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop features such as staying signed in from working properly.
- See aboutcookies.org for browser-specific instructions.
8. Changes and Contact
We may revise this Cookie Policy when our technology stack or applicable law changes. The "Last updated" date above will show the current revision. Send questions about our cookies to:
